One of my favourite cities. We went again in June for our photo shoot and to hunt down some great antique finds for the jewelry. The weather for the week was rain off and on but we really lucked out - two days of rain before and rain the day after - but the day of our shoot was fantastic! The sun was shining, birds were singing... is that what I was looking at?! Or maybe smiling at the heavens for letting the sun shine.
Having never done a professional shoot before I wasn't quite sure what to expect.
I met with our photographer Cara, early in the week to finalize our plans. Having
had this arranged over the internet before we left, it was nice to meet face to face. We shared the same vision for the shoot - mostly street photography, relaxed, with a retro edge.
Watching everyone work was fantastic. Laura, our makeup artist, came armed with
her many supplies (and I was slightly jealous of my makeup selections at home!).
Madison, our model, arrived beautiful even without makeup - and it was amazing to see the different looks Laura could give her. Cara had everything arranged for us at many different locations through the day - our first being a wonderful café on the left bank. We sat and enjoyed café au lait, and chatted while Laura got to work.
Every location was fabulous - from the café, to old cobbled streets, architectural old doors, fountains, courtyards, statues, and a famous view of the river Seine with the Eiffel Tower in the background, taken from historic Pont Neuf bridge.
All in all we couldn't have asked for a better day. I think the tourists on the streets had just as much fun as we did - it was great to hear people stopping and whispering "look, they're doing a photo shoot!".
Special thanks to our photographer Cara Tobe www.caratobephoto.com, our model Madison Detro, and makeup artist Laura Wojazer www.ditamakeup.book.fr.
