Welcome to our new "In The Making" blog posts where we talk about our ideas and inspirations for some of our finished pieces! With the holiday season comes time spent with family, and with family comes memories of loved ones. Stored in my mother's basement was a jewelry box filled with some of her mother's old things. Some pieces in great shape, some needing a little TLC, most of which were no longer in style to wear as is. I wanted to make something special for my mom for Christmas. I decided on one of our most popular styles, the Jumble necklace, as I had enough pieces to not only make one for mom, but for my aunt as well. I wanted the finished pieces to be similar but still unique to each of them. I was able to make them almost entirely out of Grandma's treasures, using only new clasps and ear wires. I took apart crystal necklaces, wired and beaded clip earrings, sterling silver charm bracelets and her pendant necklaces. Next time I might even remember to take pictures before I start the work! Take a look at the "Betty" version of Jumble.
